Lived Experience Panel
The Harbour Project is committed to learning from the people we support,
allowing their insights and experiences to shape our work. In August 2024, we
secured funding from the Justice Together Initiative to create our first Lived
Experience Panel. Members have all experienced the asylum system, have all
engaged with Harbour’s services, and are diverse in age, gender, ethnicity, and
nationality. The purpose of our LEX Panel is to serve as a collaborative body of
individuals dedicated to enhancing the service delivery and facilitating meaningful
change within The Harbour Project and beyond. By ensuring their voices guide
our approach, we can address immediate needs but also build long-term,
meaningful solutions that foster inclusion and equity.
We currently have nine panel members from eight different countries:
■ Micael Rostami
■ Itza Benitez
■ Majid Mohamed
■ Shela Nukwu
■ Fouad Khasha
■ Valentyna Velyka
■ Mahamat Djaafar
■ Erlinda Barjamaj
■ Mohamed Yahya
