Volunteer

Our volunteers are our lifeline. They are people who bring hope into challenging moments, create safety when uncertainty rises, and embody resilience through every act of care. They generously give their time, binded together by a shared mission: supporting refugees and people seeking asylum with compassion, dignity and understanding.

To be exposed to differences is a benefit to everyone. Being involved with The Harbour Project opens ones eyes, broadens the mind, stretches the brain dealing with and learning about the rules and processes of asylum and learning about the ways of others from all over the world” – Harbour Volunteer

We’re always looking for like-minded volunteers who bring warmth, respect and kindness. There are so many different ways to get involved, including: offering help and guidance within the Advice Centre, teaching an English or Maths class, or helping out during one of our many social activities. We’ll work around your schedule, and whether you support a group, an activity or a one-off event, your presence will make a genuine difference.

If you are interested in giving your time to The Harbour Project, then firstly, thank you!  Secondly, we will need you to complete the volunteer application form below. As part of the volunteer application, you will have to read and understand our values and permit us to securely store your data, in line with UK GDPR and Data Protection. You will also have to agree to adhere to our Volunteer Policy, which can be viewed HERE. Once this has been filled in, we will contact you to discuss the different options available.
