Volunteer

Our volunteers are our lifeline. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to provide the support we do. The advice centre is built on a team of regular volunteers who are passionate about providing a welcome, safe space for our visitors. Our committed volunteers are always wanting to increase their knowledge on the problems that face our visitors and are always doing their best to solve such problems.

Being part of the Harbour Family, our volunteers enjoy:

“Hearing the stories of our visitors and seeing theme thrive.”

“The feeling of community, non judgemental, hoping the Harbour itself is a help, in what must be very stressful moments – perhaps years – in humans.”

“Sense of trying to help and being rewarded by people’s trust; and seeing people grow in confidence and wellbeing.”

As well as our advice centre, we have volunteers who kindly offer their time by teaching English, running sewing groups or cooking classes.

If you are interested in giving your time to Harbour, then firstly, thank you!  Secondly, you’ll need to fill in an application form.

Once this has been filled in, we’ll shortly be in contact to discuss the options available. As part of the volunteer application, you will have to agree to adhere to our volunteer policy and values, available for download here.
